cortezthekiller - 9/19/2003 at 01:05 AM

Hey dusty,
I'd love to see some good old fashion acoustic blues. You goin on tour any time soon??? Possibly comin down here to GA?

CanPeach - 9/19/2003 at 01:14 AM

Yeah, a tour would be nice. If you ever decide to cross the border, I can fill you in on the clubs/venues here. don't get many nice acoustic shows up here.

Sherrick - 9/22/2003 at 01:40 AM

Dusty,

a couple friends of mine are in a band that plays lots of gigs all over CT...I'll talk to one of them and try to get Pam some phone numbers...I've seen them at some pretty cool places.....Black Eyed Sally's, Double Down Grill, a few more...wouldn't think you'd know em, but maybe you do. I'll talk to the people at my school, too...maybe I can setcha up with a decent gig here. I will let Pam know what I know when I know it...hope you can work something out.

Dusty - 9/23/2003 at 06:11 AM

.. Or I can pack my Les Paul jr,, and my fender champ... and jam all night

Sherrick - 9/23/2003 at 12:13 PM

Sherrick - 10/15/2003 at 03:51 PM

Dusty: my buddy who has the phone numbers and names for the area is finishing up a tour (she's in Mike Gordon's solo band, actually, in case anyone was curious), so she's been busy...I'll keep on her, and pass along anything she gives me to Pam.

Dusty - 11/9/2003 at 03:29 PM

...last night I went down the setlist for Lanaroo.... that should be a hoot I pity David trying to follow Me lol... I never play the same way twice, and change the words all the time, it would drive Broose the Bass man crazy,,,,hehehe

Pam - 11/10/2003 at 03:35 PM

I thought Broose was already crazy? LOL....

Dusty - 11/11/2003 at 11:43 PM

...Just got a email on my opening for My old friend BB King..but...well here it is.....

Dusty,Thanks again for submitting your EPK for the BB King opening slot. We were really impressed with your material, and hope that you will consider submitting again for a future event. After we pared down the submissions for the gig however, we weren't able to select you this time.

All the best,

Garry

Dusty - 1/1/2006 at 11:36 PM

Dear Dusty,
We are delighted that you have applied for our event in Holland!
You are on standby that means your application will go to peer review.
The top 10% of peer reviewed acts are selected for the final review that includes input from some of the higher profile venues on the tour.

Good luck!
Cheers,
Ben Ruth cmeas.com

Now my idea has always been this,,,, American's dont get the Deep Acoustic Blues.....and that been proven by my sales over the years in Europe, Canada,Japan, Argentina ect over the last decade....and even recentally were all my sales from CDbaby for the Katrina Relif fund came from Europe ,Japan and Canada...
So I rarely bother to sendout my Press kit to venues in America....except for certian Festivals that are acoustic based.... plus they have good weed...so I wont have to worry about that

CanPeach - 1/13/2006 at 08:28 PM

Wow, an overseas tour. Sounds like a great idea Dusty, I'm sure your music will be well received over there

Dusty - 2/3/2006 at 04:17 AM

..I'm still holding my breath on that one.... but just got a no go.. on a Scandavian tour for May..So looks like I may have to find some place else...its a crap shoot with this method..I get asked but so do several other bands ect... but My philosophy has alway been... 'If ya dont try. ya have regrets,,,,and If ya do try, and dont get it,, ya gave it your best shot'
As the old saying goes... 'Even a Blind pig can root out a acorn if he keeps trying"
hahaha

Dusty - 4/8/2006 at 04:00 AM

Status: Selected
Response: Thank you for your submission to be a KOA Approved Performer. Upon reviewing your information we believe you will be a great asset to this new and exciting project.

We are still working on the final details to begin making connections between campgrounds and the performers. This should be finalized in the next couple of weeks and we plan on doing a preliminary launch by May 26th.

We will be sending out a participating campground list by May 19th so you are aware of the campgrounds that will be available for the project. As this project gains momentum we will be adding campgrounds to the list.

For now, we ask for your patience until we can send you the next batch of information. This will include a participating campground list and also a sample of our performance agreement, a feedback form and a review of the project.

We feel e-mail is the easiest way to keep you informed of new information and updates to the project. If this is not the easiest way of communication for you, please let us know of an alternative method.

We thank you once again and we look forward to having you as a KOA Approved Performer!
======================================================= Kampgrounds of America, Inc. Presents: Kampertainment
Are you on tour? Do you travel by RV, motor home, camper or tent? Do you like to perform while traveling? Well, we have an opportunity for you. Submit you EPK to become a Kampgrounds of America, Inc, (KOA) Approved Performer.

We are looking for performers who have the ability to travel, to perform at our participating campgrounds, in return for a tent or RV site. We know the costs incurred going from location to location can sometimes add up and we hope this opportunity can eliminate some of that for you.

You can be involved in the trial of our new Kampertainment Program, which once approved, will give you access to participating locations, in both the United States and Canada, who are looking for entertainment on their campgrounds. In return for a short performance you will receive accommodations that consist of either a tent or RV site, at the campground in which you perform.

Our marketing department will be looking at all submissions to find performers that fit into our image of “Great People, Great Camping.” We are most definitely looking for performers who are considered family-friendly and are willing to play to the campers. We do not guarantee large crowds. We are mainly looking for performers who can set up and add atmosphere to an on-going event, like an ice cream social, a wine and cheese tasting, or before a movie begins. Or also just be able to play by a fire, while campers walk around.

The genres of music we are most interested in are country, blues and folk music. However, we are willing to consider any genre if it deems appropriate for the family and peaceful atmosphere of a campground.

Once we have declared you a KOA Approved Performer your information will be made available to our participating campgrounds. You will also receive information on the locations of those campgrounds, including contact information. It is then up to the campgrounds and the performers to make contact to find mutual times that they could help each other out. We ask that all performers submitting their EPK have up-to-date calendars/tour schedules, so that making a connection between themselves and a campground can go smoothly.

We have approximately 25 campgrounds across the US and Canada taking part in this trial program, with potentially more being added all the time. If the trial is successful, this will be opened up to all our locations.

Established in Billings, Mont. in 1962, Kampgrounds of America, Inc. is the franchised campground industry leader. KOA Inc. offers RV, tent, Kamping Kabin, Kottage and Lodge sites at campground locations in the United States, Canada, and Japan. Currently, KOA has more than 450 franchised campgrounds, and 21 company operated properties that are open to the public.

Dusty - 8/2/2006 at 01:31 PM

just got this from Taiwan....

Dusty,
The Blues Society on Taiwan has made their final selections of performers for the Blues Bash 3. There were too many very difficult choices to make. Our decisions were based on two factors: cost and suitability.
The cost of bringing a band to Taiwan narrowed the field considerably. We are funded entirely by private donations and corporate sponsorship. The world economy being what it is, the level of corporate sponsorship for a Blues music event in Taiwan fell far short of our expectations. This short-fall in sponsorship meant we had to tighten our belts and plan for a smaller event than we had originally hoped for.
Next year, we plan a bigger, better Blues Bash as well as other smaller convert events, music workshops and seminars.
Blues on,
DC Rapier
Blues Society on Taiwan (president
)

Oh well... Nice to get it first hand from DC....
gonna try and try again....
I would have loved the food!!!!!!
