Dusty - 11/18/2004 at 02:31 AM

Yeah Dusty, that Gregg anthology is sweet
yea, I really like it, a differnt feel on some songs....years ago we played 'Catfish blues' in his hotel room...hmm Midnight rider.. Big City, Bright lights... it was me, him,,and Getty from Commander Coty, Played for ahhh or so it seemed a few hours and I remember playing 'cant be satisified' and him singing
...been listening to alot of Beatles...... after watching 'the Beatles Anthology' I dug out the albums.. which I got as soon as they came out.( really makes me hhmm reflect on my age lol)..scratchy as all hell.. but cool memories!!!
and thats were I got the ideas for some songs on the new CD....making them so 'big' that they will be unable to reproduce on stage... and using tape loops.. only to find out in HTN this week that Warren was using just about the same thing on 'Deja Vodoo' on a few songs

CanPeach - 11/20/2004 at 04:28 AM

hey Dusty, can't wait to hear the new cd

Speaking of Warren, right now I'm listening to an acoustic show of his from 8-09-04. Love the tunes "Indian Sunset" and "Glory Road".

Loretta Lynn "Van Lear Rose": the new cd produced and arranged by Jack White of the White Stripes. What would appear to be an odd combination but one that should certainly boost the career of this country legend. An outstanding cd by the way.

yeah I heard about that.. and it was on some critic's list of the Top 10 CD's of the year, was watching a few minutes ago.... hhmmmmm Karma....Ill write it down. and pick it up
Im always looking in different directions......

CanPeach - 12/30/2004 at 01:23 PM

hey Dusty, its worth listening to. Jack sings with Loretta on one song, "Portland Oregon". Its funny how it sometimes takes someone from a totally different style of music to resurrect musical carreers, for instance, what Rick Rubin did with Johnny Cash on the American Recordings collection.

Finally bought The Eagles "Long Road Out Of Eden" at Walmart. Just listened to the first disc so far, definitely a laid back sound, probably not too popular with the younger crowd these days, but I love the song "How Long", apparently this was a song from the 70s that never got recorded, it will remind you of the early daze of the band
