I was trying to think of a topic,, that I havent seen on all the forums.....
this is a phrase a old friend would ask me,,, he had a restuarent in Italian Part of RI,, and as some of youse know,, we do have a cast of character's here in RI,, our Mayor Buddy...doing a bit of 'time' in a Fed pen,,, for something called RICO LOL.. and ex governor,, ED..' Baby Gerber' Diprete... hhmm ...another RICO..convection....
but back to my story,,,every now and thene,, I would get a call .. and all I'd hear over the Phone,, was 'You Eat???' ...Of course I knew who it was.. and Id say 'No' then 'come eat' was his response... and the phone would go dead... so I'd take a ride to Providence, and 'Go eat'....
so I'd have some pasta,, some scampi...some vino...a little sambuca... good food ,,, free food..
then we would go outside and take a drive,, and talk some,, then part ways,,, this was way over a decade ago....some where ,, some time,, he just vanished..never to be heard of again and common occurance in some inner circles around here ....and ya really dont ask questions,,, get the drift?....
But I was wondering 'You Eat???'
tonite,,,
I grilled up a few rack of ribs... with my special ..hhmmm aahhh 'rasta ribs' I call them,LOL..
a few ears of corn from the farm across the river. nice and fresh and a nice big salad from my neighbors Linda's garden....
SO I was wondering...
..... You Eat????.... ____________________ Hittin' the Note with Dusty Sommers

LOL. Jeremy that's a long way to go for dinner!
Dusty mentioned Linda up there and I just wanted to point out that in the Big River Blues CD insert he thanked her kindly for the vittles.
I used to work with this guy who retired from the Navy when I had a pharmacy wharehouse job some years ago and he used to tell us about the "gravy lady", as he called her. This little old lady that had a crush on him and he would get home after second shift and have a hot plate of food waiting on the step for him. She always made homemade gravy, hence the name. ____________________ "Some people love their misery. And the truth is that when I see them enjoying their misery, I love it too! food is good.
i could tell a really sad, sad, story here but don't want to bum any one out (including myself).
so instead i'll say that it has been very fulfilling dropping off the Rock and Wrap food lately to the homeless shelter. Me and TerriB found one that had children staying there; and when we left after dropping off about 100 pounds of food i felt like i was high. like i did something that was making a difference. great feeling.
it's a shame the number of children and adults that go to bed hungry. there is plenty of resources for no single person to go hungry.
and dusty....what times dinner? ____________________

You never eat alone, Jake is always there.
You need an awning over the porch where the grill is. You can grill in the rain then. That is why my Dad has that tarp menagerie on his deck, to grill in the rain and a good part of the winter too! ____________________ "Some people love their misery. OOOOOH... THAT'S ALMOST AS GOOD AS THE " GIRLS WHO EAT RIBS" WEB SITE.
TRULY BIZZARE.
THE PIX ARE WAY TOO BIG. THE PRICE I PAY FOR HI TECH EQUIPMENT.
FUNNY, MY MUSIC GEAR IS AS LOW TECH AS I CAN GET. WHEN I PLAY THRU AN AMP, I USE ONE WITH ONLY 4 KNOBS. I CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER WHAT THEY ARE. I JUST TURN 'EM UP ALL THE WAY UP |
