..hhmmm... a few minutes ago,,, I just made a sandwich,, Inspired by watching Dave Letterman on monday night,,, it was a tribute to Waren Zevon,,, and a small clip of DL asking WZ,, if he saw any enilghtment in the last few months , ,,knowing what his outcome would soon be........ and WZ said, "enjoy every sandwich....."
so I just made a turkey with swiss cheese, fresh tomato . with just a bit of seasoning and some honey dijon salad dressing with mayo on a bulky roll...... and it was damn good........
.....that clock ticks for all of us......all the time........have a good sandwich

I could move to the South just for the food. Last time I was in Macon I ate at the H&H, don't always eat a big lunch but they weren't doing dinner that day. I had fried chicken, rice with gravy (in Canada no one puts gravy on rice!), black-eyed peas and collard greens (I could eat a plate of them). They don't serve beer, which would have gone down nice on that hot day, but instead I had the house specialty of a big tumbler of sweet iced tea. Man, I 'm gettin' hungry thinking about it.

Another memorable eat was late this summer at a ribfest here in Toronto, there were food stands with award winning ribs from all over the States, Mmmmm, I 'et good that day!

Just had a sandwich the side of my head...there's a place called Giant Grinder near my house, and they make some of the biggest frickin' sandwiches I've seen in my entire life...and theyre damn good, too.

Ham, Capicola, Salami, Pepperoni, American Cheese, Swiss Cheese, and some Jalapeno Peppers. Hot damn it was good.

Hey Dusty...you're a Rhode Island guy, eh? Ever spend any time in South Kingston/Charlestown? I spent many a month there up until I was about 20, during the summers...we'd rent a place on Green Pond that had private ocean beach access, and was connected to a pond with an ocean outlet....great times. And great meals every year at the Charlestown Seafood Festival....some of the best seafood I ever ate, when I actually ate it.

Good old sunday morning...

Made a peach cobbler last night to be baked with lunch today- Mashed potatoes & gravy, Mac & Cheese pie, Lima beeans, And Southern Fried(not kentucky). Getting hungry thinking about it.

Last night we went to the "Greek festival" losts of good food, ate lots of food I can't pronounce, and exposed Lil Sarah to her first cultural experience. She wasn't sure what was different-- But by her big eyes you could tell she sensed something was different. Oktoberfest is next

Y'all know what I like....Red Hot Chicken!

Miss Elf went to the H&H the other day and had the fried chicken, squash, peas and cornbread. Lawdy.

I have been doing this pasta dish, just sautee some garlic, oregano, yellow and red bell peppers, brocolli, carrots, basil, whatever meats you want, throw in some almost cooked pasta and then the marinara and alfredo sauce....toss it a few times in the pan, and voila!

I already ate lunch, but we're having breakfast for dinner tonight. Since I work nights, everyone's gone to work/school when I get home, we rarely have breakfast together.
Anyway, there's more time to make pancakes and bacon when you don't have to run out somewhere!
